Starter 12V - All (Except 49-54 Dubl-Duti.)

The rebuild process includes: Fully disassembled and cleaned in parts scrubber, bead blasted and painted. Field coils and armature are tested to original specifications (original field coils and armature are by far superior to new aftermarket parts). Field coils are rewrapped if needed. Armatures that fail are "rewound" at a facility in Seattle Washington. Good armatures are turned on a lathe and retested. All starters get a new drive, new bushings, new brushes and a new leather brake washer. The brush springs are tested and replaced if they are weak. All starters also get a new band to cover the brush openings in the field case. Each starter is tested on a 6 volt tester for amp draw, field shorts and free turning amps. Hardware is replaced as needed.
