Michael Drake's 1939 4 Door Sedan

A local older lady sold this 1939 Chevrolet to my mother in the mid 1960s at a very cheap price for my sister to have as her first car. We have kept the Master Deluxe over the years in the family, overhauling the engine, new interior, repainting. Although it originally was Mayland black, it is now maroon. It is a fine fun original 216 engine with 3 speed vacuum column shift. It does need some more work, but what a blast to enjoy a car that still has the motor it came with since new! And oh the workmanship I can feel from years ago, just an appreciation to me of our father's and grandfather's times. And I'm 70, so there ya go! Hahaha, I love it! I also like old farm stuff. Sincerely, Michael J. Drake Wyoming

About a year and a half ago I was on my way back from the grocery store when I saw an estate sale. I stopped to see if there might be anything there worth buying. I walked around and saw nothing but furniture and dishes. On my way out I asked if there might be anything in the garage for sale. The lady said yes, there was this old car.
BOOM! 1939 Chevy Master 85 frame off restoration. New glass, new interior, rebuilt 216. The brakes were frozen and the motor needed a tune up, but nothing I couldn’t handle. She runs great, needs a paint job and a few other things. I first had to start by remodeling my garage to honor such a classic creation as this. I love it too, changed my whole life.
