Bill Towler's 1940 2 Door Sedan

I've had the car for around 13 years or so. I had a 29' Ford roadster that I made into a show car but after a few years of messing with that and getting tired of the show circuit I wanted a car I could drive and enjoy. I sold the Ford and found the 40 in Dallas that a man had had for about 30 years. It was in original shape with very little damage so I bought it and started working to make it like it is today. I wanted a car I could drive and enjoy. The paint and a few of the modifications were done recently as I was rear ended and in the process of getting it repaired we decided to make a few modifications. We also experimented with the paint and came up with the new color we called "Merlot" because it looks like the color of the wine. Fortunately my neighbor has a body shop and specializes in hot rods and customs, so we had fun experimenting with things. I have disc brakes on the front and the next project is to put discs on the back. This 40 runs better then our Cadillac. I've got about 28k miles on it. Definitely not a daily driver but not a "Trailer Queen" at all. Doing things on the car is a never ending project. Bill – nice ’40, one of my best street-rod’s was a ’40 2dr. sedan, done right with a chopped top, sold, of course, but I have a just as nice, ’47 AeroSedan at present. Like your imaginative paint color & scheme, nice to think out of the box. Enjoy, Mike Rockwell in Colorado.
