Anthony Respicio's 1939 Chevy Coupe

Hi, my name is Anthony(Tony) Respicio from Honolulu, Hawaii and would like to share my 1939 Chevy Master Deluxe Coupe that I bought in February 2015. Searching the web for 39' chevy parts I came across Chevs of the 40s, and applied for the newsletter and catalog. I ordered some parts and read the newsletter every month for new items and the featured car of the month. When I bought the car the bodywork and paint was done, the color is called Purple Rain by Dupont. It had an early Chevy Nova rearend, aTH350, and a chevy 305 engine. It had a Ron Francis wiring kit, fuse panel located under the dash. Only the key switch and alternator wires were connected so the engine could run. The first thing I did was disconnected the wiring and relocate the fuse panel to the rear next to the gas tank in a plastic container to isolate the expose wiring and connections. All the major wires were run in the driver's side door jamb to the kick panel area where I mounted two terminal blocks to hook up the electrical for all lights and accessories. When all the electrical was done and tested, I started on the floor repair and sealed the floor, roof, doors and trunk areas with Dyna Mat. I did all the carpeting and upholstery for the headliner, kick and door panels, rear backboards and trunk areas. Spent many hard and fun hours building my car, finally completed 95% of the build mid June 2015 and ready for registration. Got all legal for the street in 1 1/2 weeks due to Hawaii laws and regulations. I have been going on cruises and get a lot of compliments on the build. On one of the cruise nights I was offered to have the car on a photo shoot with a model, I went for it. In October I replaced the 305 engine with an early 327 engine which I built. Engine is .030 over with a 270H Comps cam, camel back heads, Performance air-gap intake manifold with a Edelbrock 600cfm carb. Thank you very Much. Anthony Respicio
