1950 Fleetline

April 2015

Max Guymon's 1950 Fleetline

Picked this '50 Fleetline out of a Nebraska corn field - wasn't pretty! Took me nearly six years to complete - then it was off to paint and upholstery - The engine is a '59 Chevy 235 - Fenton headers, dual carbs, and I managed to modify a HEI for it - runs great, sounds good - and I don't have a "belly button" motor - Upholstery is mostly leather (with some vinyl inserts) - and of course, purple piping! Has rack and pinion steering, a '56 Chevy rear end, hydraulic clutch and Borg Warner overdrive - drum brakes - several unusual things - one piece windshield (51 Olds), one piece bumpers, a '51 dash insert - Hagan frenched headlights with Hagan slit brake and directional light lenses, LOTS of work - real happy with it - Usually wins the "People's Choice" award at show - and many others too -Max Guymon
