1946 Chevy 1/2 Ton

April 2015

Nancy & Tom Glensor's 1946 1/2 Ton

Nancy & Tom bought their truck in September of 2012. It was drivable at the time but needed a lot of work. They built it as a tribute to Nancy's father Delbert Grant. He used to build cars out of the garage while she was a kid. As a teenager Delbert ran moonshine out of Littlerock, AR. and always enjoyed fast cars and hot rodding. A worn out 350 SBC and Turbo 350 transmission was one of the first things that needed dealt with. As well as a B&M shifter that was barely bolted to the floor. The motor was changed out to a 383ci stroker Blueprint motor and the transmission to a 700r4. The shifter was swapped out for a Lokar. Power steering and front disc brakes were on the truck when they got it, although both systems had to be gone through. The 78 Nova front end also had to be rebuilt. Paint was done by Jason Haskin of Haskin's Hot Rod Shop and pin striping was done by Mike Cline. Nancy & Tom are putting their truck to good use and driving it frequently. They took it to an outdoor autorama event this year and won an Editors Choice Award.
