i put the zero pressure cap on. After running the car several times in the heat and idling for long periods of time through drive throughs it seems as though after initial burps it gets to level of nec of top hose and doesnt burp out anymore. Also temperature doesnt go over 160 or 165 so I believe its designed to run at that water level. Thank you for your feedback.

Paul if you can see the fluid through the the neck and it has stopped burping it is full. If you are running stock drive line a 0 pressure cap is correct.

Hello, if you add a reservoir overflow or a “catch can” you would be able to see how much fluid is being pushed out. Coolant will expand and contract in volume with temperature change and the amount of expansion is also affected by the ratio of the coolant mix.

I do not have a reservoir overflow or catch can attached. But it seems as though once it spills out a couple times to where I can barely touch with my finger or see level at top of inside core It doesnt burp out anymore. Maybe I shouldnt keep topping it off? I did order a no pressure cap for it to try it out. Not sure if that would help?

Hello, running a 4 lbs radiator cap over a zero pressure cap raises the boiling point of the coolant which means 4 lbs of pressure will have to build up before the seal in the radiator cap will let coolant out the “burp” hole. Do you have a catch can hooked up to the radiator so that you can measure how much coolant you are loosing?

After I shut off my car it typically burps out some coolant. More if i top it off. Right now I am running a 4# radiator cap. the original calls for a no pressure cap. Would my ecar run cooler with a no pressure cap? I already changed out the thermostat to a 160 degree and replaced the hoses. Checked spark plugs and they seem to be running clean and are white. What should i check next.
