ET style lug nuts have a shank at the bottom side to get down into the lug hole and thread securely to the stud. When mounting wheels every stud must be long enough to thread a length equal to the diameter of the stud.
Example: If using 1/2in. thread diameter studs, the lug must engage at least 1/2in. of the stud.
* Use ET style lug nuts for vehicles with 1" or shorter stud lengths.
