Featured Vehicle - August 2014
1940 Chevy 1/2 Ton Truck
The August 2014 featured vehicle is a 1940 1/2 ton truck, owned by Brian Ooten and built by Mark Sims both of Oregon City, Oregon. The project was started in 2003 and took 7 years to complete. It is an honor that here at Chevs Of The 40's we are able to help projects like this go from being a plain shell to a full on show vehicle.
The truck is fitted with many custom items such as, an early 350 block with Trick Flow cylinder heads and a 1998 corvette fuel injection to top it, a 700R4 transmission, Wilwood dual master cylinder braking system, smooth steel running boards, pros pick bed and tailgate with oak bed wood, 2" wider rear fenders and many more! Another interesting thing about the truck is all the trim pieces were custom fabricated by the builder Mark Sims.
Brian has been busy taking his truck to all of the local shows this summer. So if you are out and about in the pacific northwest keep your eyes open because this is a truck you do not want to miss.
